How to get your first VeVe comic with the $10 credit

New VeVe accounts receive US$10 in credit, delivered as 10 Gems, that can be spent on the VeVe Store or VeVe Market. VeVe's terms do not specifically confirm whether the credit applies to Waitlist blind box drops, so check the offer in your own app before assuming it covers one.

Ten dollars is not a lot of money, and that is exactly why it is a reasonable way to find out whether digital comics on VeVe are for you before spending anything real.

What the credit actually is

New VeVe accounts get US$10 in credit, delivered as 10 Gems. One Gem is worth one US dollar inside the app, so the math is direct: ten Gems is ten dollars of spending power the moment your account is verified. VeVe’s own offer terms state the credit can be used “to purchase Collectibles from the VeVe Store or VeVe Market.” The eligibility is narrow. You need to be a genuinely new user who has never held a VeVe account or made a purchase before, the offer can be claimed once per person, and it cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to someone else.

VeVe’s offer page also mentions access to a free digital collectible on top of the credit, noting that availability may vary. The language on that point is not fully specific about whether it is a second item separate from the $10 or the same offer described two different ways, so treat it as a bonus that might apply rather than something guaranteed.

The part that is genuinely unclear

Here is where honesty matters more than a clean answer. VeVe’s terms say the $10 credit works on the Store or the Market. They do not specifically address Waitlist drops, which are the blind box release format most Marvel comics use, including recent drops like Thor #134 and Amazing Spider-Man #316. Waitlist drops run through their own reservation and bidding mechanics rather than a simple add-to-cart purchase, and nothing in the public terms explicitly says the credit covers that specific format. It is entirely possible it does. It is also possible it does not, or that it works differently depending on the release. Check the offer inside your own app before assuming your $10 will cover a Waitlist entry, and do not be surprised if it behaves differently from a straightforward Store purchase.

The cleaner route is the comic store itself. When we checked on Thursday 24 September, VeVe’s comic store was selling single issues outright from US$6.98, including same-day-as-print Marvel and Star Wars books like Generation X-23 #8 and Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett #2. Those are plain Store purchases, the exact thing the credit terms name, and every one of them costs less than your ten Gems.

What $6.99 actually buys

Most recent Marvel digital comic drops on VeVe have listed at $6.99 as a blind box entry, capped at 1,000 total editions per release. That price point means your $10 credit, once confirmed to apply, covers a single comic drop with room left over, or it stretches further on the VeVe Marketplace where collectors resell pieces they already hold.

How the five rarity tiers work

Every standard Marvel comic drop uses the same five-tier structure, in this order of scarcity:

  • Common, the Classic Cover, and the largest share of any print run
  • Uncommon, the Vintage Variant
  • Rare, the Hero Variant
  • Ultra Rare, the Vibranium Variant
  • Secret Rare, the True Believer Variant, and the smallest share by far

A blind box means you do not choose your tier. You claim an entry during the drop window, and the app assigns your specific cover and edition number once the reveal happens. Our full breakdown of what those rarity tiers mean covers how the odds and the reveal mechanics actually work if you want more detail before your first drop.

Spending the credit, step by step

  1. Create a VeVe account and complete verification so the $10 credit lands in your wallet as Gems.
  2. Open the drops calendar to see what is currently live or coming up.
  3. Check the listing for whether the item is a direct Store purchase or a Waitlist blind box, since that affects how your credit gets applied.
  4. If it is a Store item, add it and check out using your Gems balance directly.
  5. If it is a Waitlist drop, confirm in the app whether your credit is accepted for the entry before the window closes, since this is the point that VeVe’s public terms leave unaddressed.
  6. Once you have a piece, your edition number is recorded and viewable, and you can display it in AR straight from your collection.

Worth ten dollars of your time

A free ten dollars with no card required is a low-risk way to see what a numbered digital comic actually looks like in your own hands before deciding whether the rest of the catalog is worth exploring. Start a free VeVe account and the credit lands automatically, no card required. Full terms and how to claim it are on the free credit page.

Ten dollars will not build a collection. It will show you, cheaply, whether you want to.
