VeVe FAQ
Straight answers, no sales pitch. If your question isn't here, it will be - the FAQ grows with what collectors actually ask.
The basics
What is VeVe?
VeVe is a digital collectibles platform where fans own officially licensed items from Marvel, Disney, DC, Star Wars and other major brands. Collectibles are released as limited, numbered editions that can be displayed in augmented reality or a virtual showroom. VeVe has operated since 2020, with over 5 million collectibles across 180+ countries.
Is VeVe legit or a scam?
VeVe is legitimate: it works directly with rights holders, and its collectibles are officially licensed by Disney, Marvel, DC, Lucasfilm and other studios. Edition numbers are verifiable on a public ledger. Like any collectibles market, values fluctuate - collect for enjoyment, not returns.
What are digital collectibles?
Digital collectibles are limited-edition digital items - 3D figures, comics, artwork - with verifiable ownership and edition numbers recorded on a blockchain. Licensed platforms like VeVe partner with brands so each release is official, unlike unlicensed NFT projects.
Are VeVe collectibles NFTs?
Technically yes - each collectible is a blockchain-backed token proving ownership and edition number. But VeVe collectibles differ from typical NFTs: they're officially licensed by major studios, purchased with normal payment methods, and designed for collectors rather than traders.
Getting started
How do I sign up for VeVe?
Download the VeVe app (iOS/Android) or join on the web, create a free account, and verify your email. New collectors who join through a partner link receive US$10 in free credit toward a first collectible - no card required.
How does the free $10 work?
VeVe gives new collectors US$10 in credit (10 Gems) when they create an account through a partner link and subscribe to VeVe emails. The credit goes toward your first collectible. One claim per person; terms apply on VeVe's site.
How much do VeVe collectibles cost?
Store drops typically range from around US$6 for common editions to US$40+ for premium-format releases. The in-app marketplace prices are set by collectors and vary with demand and rarity.
Collecting
Where can I buy a Batman digital collectible?
DC digital collectibles, including Batman figures and Detective Comics covers, release on VeVe through scheduled drops and its in-app marketplace. Our drop calendar tracks upcoming DC releases.
What are Disney NFTs?
Disney digital collectibles on VeVe are officially licensed 3D figures, moments and artwork from Disney properties, released in limited editions with verifiable numbers and AR display.
Why are first-appearance comics so valuable?
A first appearance is a character's debut - the comic world's rookie card. Physical first appearances like Amazing Fantasy #15 (Spider-Man, 1962) are among the most valuable books in the hobby. VeVe releases officially licensed digital first-appearance comics as limited numbered editions.
What do rarity tiers mean on VeVe?
Drops are labeled Common, Uncommon, Rare, Ultra Rare or Secret Rare, reflecting edition size and pull odds. Rarer tiers have smaller editions and are the 'grails' collectors chase.
Selling & the ecosystem
Can I sell my VeVe collectibles?
Yes - collectibles can be listed on VeVe's in-app marketplace, and the StackR marketplace supports trading with value exit via OMI. Note that VeVe's late-2025 update made in-app Gems non-withdrawable; see our cash-out guide for the current route.
What is the OMI token?
OMI is the token of the ECOMI ecosystem that VeVe belongs to. It's used within the broader ecosystem including StackR trading. You don't need OMI to collect on VeVe - the app uses Gems bought with regular payment methods.
