Why Ironheart matters to collectors
Riri is one of the few genuinely successful new Marvel characters of the last decade, and the reason is that Brian Michael Bendis gave her a specific competence rather than a generic legacy. She is an engineer first. The armour is the consequence, not the premise.
Key issues and milestones
- Invincible Iron Man #7 (2016) - Her first appearance, in the Bendis and Mike Deodato run.
- Invincible Iron Man #9 (2016) - The suited-up appearance that collectors separate from the debut, which is standard practice for modern keys.
- Champions (2016) - The teen-team book that gave her a peer group and a lot more panel time than a solo title would have.
- Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) - Dominique Thorne plays her in live action, six years after the character was created.
Riri built her first suit out of salvaged material she took from an MIT lab, which is how Tony Stark finds out about her - campus security called it theft before anyone noticed she had built working armour.
Collecting Ironheart through the years
Ironheart is a clean example of how modern first appearances are collected now. Invincible Iron Man #7 was a standard 2016 monthly with no fanfare at release, and the market sorted itself out only once the character stuck. Collectors split hairs over the debut versus the first armoured appearance versus the first cover, and ratio variants complicate the picture further, since a 1:25 or 1:50 incentive cover from that era exists in a fraction of the numbers of the standard edition. Grade is everything on books this recent, because there is no attrition to thin the population.

VeVe also runs a digital comic store, separate from its collectible drops. Search it for Ironheart comics Single issues we checked on 25 September 2026 ran from US$3.99 to US$8.98, so a new collector's US$10 credit covers one outright.
Ironheart on VeVe
VeVe has released Riri as a figure series. Her armour design has changed noticeably between comic runs and the screen version, so sculpts tend to commit to one interpretation rather than splitting the difference. Standard tiered rarities apply, with the premium edition reserved for a smaller run.
